Hon’ble Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik took charge of office of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh on January 30, 2012 for the second term. Earlier, he has served as Chairman Anti-Corruption Establishment from 2004 to 2008 before his appointment as Provincial Ombudsman Sindh. He has remained the Additional Inspector General of Sindh Police and also as the Capital City Police Officer in the rank of Additional Inspector General.
Mr. Malik was appointed Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh in January 2008.
He is a graduate in Civil Engineering from the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. He joined the Police Service of Pakistan as Assistant Superintendent of Police through Competitive Examination in 1972 and remained posted throughout Sindh on various assignments. Besides serving in the police department, he has worked as DDG, Intelligence Bureau; Chairman Cotton Export Corporation, and Commissioner of the Sindh Social Security. While Mr Malik's tenure in office, the Ombudsman Sindh became the first institute in the country to have a Children's Complaint Office (CCO) in the Secretariat of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh in collaboration with the UNICEF, which specifically looks after the rights of the children and young people.
